Mission Work

Broadway UCC has a long and rich history of supporting various social justice and economic-related agencies that provide clothing, housing, and special needs to families experiencing hardship and loss.

Listed below are a few of those agencies we support and we encourage you to support them, if you are able.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity-New York
nationwide and local organization that helps provide housing for the poor.  Broadway UCC has a continuous relationship with the New York chapter of Habitat for Humanity.  Much of our fundraising goes to support this tremendously helpful organization in and around the City.

Women's Advocate Ministry

Women's Advocate Ministry (WAM) is a non-profit organization led by our own Rev. Annie Bovian that fights for women's rights in prisons and jails.  Refusing funding by the government, WAM advocates unhindered within the system for fair treatment, access to medication, helping pregnant women receive the proper care, and provides relief when possible to those "lost in the system."

Women's Advocate Ministry

Exodus Transitional Community is a local non-profit that works as a resource for newly released prisoners to help them get ready to re-enter society,  This organization helps find jobs, places to live, and gives clothes.  Our church is proud to be a sponsor of Exodus!  If you would like to contribute to Exodus, contact Julio Medina at 161 East 104th Street in New York City.  You may also call their office at 917-492-0990 or by email at julio8860@cs.com.

Women's Advocate Ministry

Westside Campaign Against Hunger (WCAH)  is a non-proft organization that enables churches and other non-profits to pool their resources into one organization that provides meals, dry goods, and feeding programs specifically designed for both the homeless and the poor.  For contact information, please call the church office or St. Paul/St. Andrew Church where the WCAH operates.
